Ready, Set…Read Policies, Terms and Conditions

  1. Registration is based on scheduling and availability of the speech-language pathologist. Payment is made in full, at the beginning of the first session either by cash or credit card. Registration is confirmed upon payment being received.
  2. Participants are able to withdraw from the sessions at any time. Refunds will be pro-rated (e.g., if 50% of the sessions have been attended at the time of withdrawal, the other 50% of the registration payment will be returned).
  3. Cancellation of a scheduled session is to be made with a minimum 24 hours notice. It is the responsibility of the parent to contact the speech-language pathologist to reschedule a time to make up this session.
  4. Talking Together reserves the right to cancel a session at any time due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, illness, etc.). If a session is cancelled parents will be contacted by phone or email and an additional week will be added to the end of the program to make up that class.
  5. Sessions are designed to be one-to-one between caregiver and the child, so both parties get the full benefit from the time. However, in some instances a caregiver may need to bring a sibling(s). The registration fee will remain the same regardless of bringing a sibling(s), but arrangements need to be made with the office prior to this circumstance. It is at the discretion of Talking Together to determine if bringing a sibling(s) will cause a disturbance to the speech-language pathologist or the registered participant. In this circumstance the sibling(s) will not be able to attend classes.
  6. Talking Together adheres to the legislation outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Act, the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the regulations and by-laws outlined by the College of Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist of Ontario (CASLPO). All information obtained by Talking Together during the Ready, Set…Read program will remain private and confidential.
  7. Talking Together adheres to the requirements for collecting, documenting, maintaining and storing records, as per the Proposed Records Regulation outlined by CASLPO. A participant’s health record will be available to them at all times, with records being maintained for a minimum of 10 years following last contact with Talking Together. Should you require access to your health record please contact the office at 647-352-3922 or via email at
  8. Talking Together takes every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of its participants and their belongings. However, ultimately it is the caregiver’s responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their child(ren), themselves, guests and belongings while they are participating in the sessions.
  9. I hereby release and forever discharge from any liability whatsoever, Talking Together and its employees from and against all suits, actions, claims, costs, demands or proceedings arising from my child(ren)’s participation in or attendance at any Talking Together classes.
